Activity 0 โ Listening Detective
Discover the difference between hearing and active listening.
Metro Station 2: Mastering Receptive Communication. Build the capability to focus, interpret spoken information, identify what matters, clarify uncertainty, confirm understanding, and follow workplace instructions accurately.
In Week 1, students learned to make their own message clear. In Week 2, the direction changes: effective professional communication also requires receiving, understanding, and acting on another person's message accurately.
โI can listen actively, identify important information, clarify what I do not understand, and follow workplace instructions accurately.โ
Listening Turns Information into Action.
Hearing is automatic. Listening is intentional. Professional listening means understanding what matters and knowing what to do next.
Students build receptive communication through focus, interpretation, recall, clarification, confirmation, sequencing, and checking.
Focus attention. Interpret meaning and intent. Recall the information that matters.
Each activity produces visible evidence of learning and moves students closer to accurate workplace action.

Evidence of Learning = Evidence of Capability. The collection of cards, maps, notes, reports, performances, feedback, and reflection becomes the student's Active Listening Portfolio.
The complete progression combines the three core listening principles with strategies for comprehension, clarification, sequential execution, and confirmation.
Week 2 receptive communication complements Week 1 expressive communication and prepares students for clearer speaking in Week 3.
